Hard Water in Commerce City

Hard water in Commerce City, Colorado is no secret. It extends to Henderson and a few other small areas as well. Many families are seeing high levels of white coating on dishes and other items from their dishwasher. Don’t blame the dishwasher! It’s the water! That’s right. The water is mixing with the detergent formula inside your dishwasher and causing all that ugly damage to your dishes, glasses, etc. Chuck, The Water Man has the perfect fix for that. I live in Henderson (Commerce City) and I am considering a whole house water filter as well as a water softener. However, I understand that the salt in water softeners corrodes pipes and water heaters. Are there other alternatives to hard water problems? What about water conditioning systems?
Thanks,
Patrick
Hey There,
Contrary to the numerous myths that abound, water softeners are very good for pipes, water heaters, dishwashers & other fixtures & appliances. They prevent scale build up and sediment deposits that can corrode metals. Living in Henderson, you definitely have hard water. The best way to solve the issue is with a traditional water softener. Most people think their water runs through a bed of salt to get softened. That is not correct. The salt is only used to “regenerate” the media that does the softening. We have other “scale prevention” systems, but they don’t work very well on the extreme hard water we have up here (I live on the same water supply as you).
